Annette Moen Testimonial
"That's the place to go for healthcare as far as I am concerned".Annette Moen of Appleton, Minnesota, gives credit for her healthy life to Ortonville Area Health Services and the care she received as a patient. Ms. Moen had received her medical treatment in Fargo, ND for years. Upon becoming very ill and a patient in Fargo, her regular physician was not available and the symptoms were not improving. Her son insisted she come to Ortonville for care and she did with much success and health restored. "That’s the place to go for healthcare as far as I am concerned," were Ms. Moen's words. She was impressed with the entire experience and the communication skills of the physicians and other professionals using terminology that was easy to understand.
Ironically, Ms. Moen’s mother was a nursing assistant and surgical technician in the original hospital in Ortonville from 1949 for about 20-30 years. Ms. Moen finds it impressive that the physicians and nurse practitioners at Ortonville Area Health Services are local people who come home or have local ties.
Another interesting fact is that Dr. Bryan Delage and Annette Moen were both attending UMM in Morris at the same time, but as she states "on different sides of the campus".
When Ms. Moen first became aware of the building project, beginning with the new Outpatient Services Center, she was not gung ho but as time goes on she has determined it was what needed to be done. The whole process is exciting for our area to have a state-of-the-art facility. She does, however, say she feels sorry for the employees to work in the construction environment. She was assured that the construction crew has been very congenial in their approach and work habits to not affect the services or the employees that work here. Regarding the Capital Campaign, she said if someone were thinking about making a contribution, her response would be "I THINK YOU SHOULD!"
